About Us

Sangria Tapas Bar Restaurant began in 2003 as a dream on a local Sarasota Beach.  Caryn & Alex Amaro were brainstorming for ideas of what to do with a downtown location on Main Street that had become available during a wonderful sunset. 

Their catering business, Destinations Catering, was in need of a new home and Main Street seemed perfect.  Alex had always wanted to open a Tapas Bar and they figured opening a one on Main Street would be a great addition to their catering business. 

They just had to come up with a catchy name.  Sangria Tapas Bar Restaurant was born.
